Could one of the kind, fair members of this fine establishment with a Carfax membership provide me with a check on this car? I am seriously considering it and it seems nice. . . A bit pricy but nice. VIN is 1FMCU04118KB05436. And is 9 grand fair for this?

I’ve driven that generation of Escape. They’re fine but I would never buy the V6, 4wd version; there was a 4-cylinder 2WD version that burned a HELL of a lot less gas.
Admit it: you will never take this off pavement.

9k is a fair price. However, the throttle is very difficult to modulate. It’s not the worst pick, and for the money, it’s pretty darn good. Just remember to try before you buy.

I tend to agree regarding AWD vs. FWD, though this is presumably still in MI, so it would need to deal with snow. Still, given how flat MI is, snow tires should get you through the winter fine on a 2wd car.

Eastern Ontario, Canada here. Our winters are as bad or worse than Michigan’s. Snow tires and 2WD beats 4WD and all-seasons, hands down.

I agree on both counts. Just saw this particular one in the area and thought it might be worth a look, since its walking distance :P

Give ‘er a test drive! You’ll at least know how they handle. They’re pretty balanced, in my experience... not overly mushy or tippy, not too big, not too small.
One reason you might skip this one: it’s early in the generational cycle and I think it omits BlueTooth. The later ones of the same generation have it, saving you from having to deal with adaptors or a new stereo.

Bluetooth isn’t a huge concern to me, I have all sorts of adaptors already from previous vehicles. Good suggestion though!
